User Walkthrough show case
Within the Video-over-IP project an application was developed with several partners for remotely viewing and analysing video material from the Dutch Audio-visual Archive (NAA).
Four future users from the University of Groningen used a prototype of the application to perform some typical and critical tasks (i.e. a user walkthrough was performed). Based on their performance and comments, the user needs were specified more accurately.
The walkthrough showed that selecting video fragments requires a high level of accuracy, which makes delays in the dialogue unacceptable. This finding resulted in a fundamental change in the technical setup of the program. Because it was still early in the development process, losses were minimised.
