Expert Review show case

For the Dutch Tax Administration, an expert review was performed on four applications for their customer handling services (RBPro, Clair, VVV-IBR and BRV).
The communication level of the interfaces (control and information presentation) was reviewed by two TNO usability experts. For each application a set of possible usability bottlenecks were identified. Since the four applications are developed by the same development team, the more systematic bottlenecks were also identified. These include remarks on the uniformity of the layout, the optimal use of default graphical interface components and the integrated support functions.

Based on the report that was delivered, the development team can optimize the different user interfaces to improve the usability. Part of the proposed enhancements were implemented right away, others remain on the 'wish-list' for future releases. Advice was given to develop a set of 'proven' interface components that are re-usable between the applications.
